Job Summary:
The Cloud Administrator will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of the organization's cloud computing infrastructure. This role requires strong technical expertise in cloud computing technologies, along with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and monitor the organization's cloud computing infrastructure, ensuring its availability, performance, and security.
2. Perform regular maintenance activities, including patching, upgrades, and backups, to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
3. Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement cloud-based solutions that meet the organization's requirements and align with industry best practices.
4. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, network connectivity, and application performance, ensuring minimal downtime and disruptions.
5. Monitor system logs and generate reports to identify potential vulnerabilities or security breaches, and implement corrective actions as required.
6. Stay updated with the latest cloud computing technologies, trends, and best practices, and provide recommendations for improvements and enhancements to the existing infrastructure.
7. Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their cloud computing needs, and provide guidance and support in leveraging cloud services to meet business objectives.
8. Collaborate with vendors and service providers to ensure the seamless integration of cloud-based services and solutions.
9. Develop and maintain documentation, including system configurations, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides, to facilitate knowledge sharing and smooth operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in administering and supporting cloud computing infrastructure, preferably in a large enterprise environment.
3. Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
4. Proficiency in cloud infrastructure management tools, such as Amazon EC2, S3, VPC, Azure Virtual Machines, or Google Cloud Compute Engine.
5. Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMWare or Hyper-V.
6. Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewalls.
7. Familiarity with scripting languages, such as PowerShell or Python, for automating tasks and deployments.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a timely manner.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and vendors.
10. Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
11. Relevant certifications, such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect, are highly desirable.
